EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT STRATEGIES

What differentiates the rich from the poor is their time management techniques. Which simply means how well they make use of their time. We all have same 24 hrs,but what do we do with it everyday is what makes the difference.

Effective time management technique takes a lot of effort and decisive readiness if you would see result and succeed in anything. Do you have a time management technique that works for you and help you plan your day effectively? Or you just live life like every other person who either spend more time sleeping, or spend more time on social media and gaining nothing in return.

Never forget, ”we become what we consistently do”. The word consistent shows time and repetition. However, some are clueless with no sense of direction,so they watch as their time pass by. This simply shows how poor their time management technique is. Only the exceptional few have mastered the art of making good use of their time.

What then happens to those who have not.

Time management is highly important if you want to be successful.

EFFECTIVE TIME MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUE

1. Awareness : Be aware of the fact that you just have 24 hrs in a day.
Why awareness?
Most people are not aware of the fact that time spent cannot be reversed or regained back. They also forget that time waits for no one. So they live in an illusion that they have tomorrow and next day and next day and in this illusion, they let time pass them by without achieving anything tangible. Time is the currency of life. Employers understand this fact so they are willing to pay you for your time in order to get money and value in return.

2. Planning : If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

“Planning is bringing the future into the present so that you can do something about it now”-Alan Lakein

Having realized that time is of essence, you must give due diligence to planning your everyday life. Always plan a day before or plan everyday in advance so as not to wake up each new day clueless. Be intentional about each new day. If you are employed, you can plan your daily activities from before you leave for work to after work and what you want to achieve for your own self. This helps you add value to yourself even while working for another.

For entrepreneurs who think they have all the time to themselves, never forget while you choose to be an entrepreneur. Now you have the time, how well are you using it. You must seize each day by planning it wisely or fall into the trap that you have all the time. You must be accountable for your time.

For students who have their time, don’t waste it. Now is the best time to plan,to acquire more knowledge and skills outside the school system. This makes you stand out from your peers. Remember, the habits you form today, grows with you and follows you to the future.

3. Say No to Procrastination: The reason why people procrastinate is because they lack clarity about what they want to do and in what order and for what reason.

“The greater clarity you have regarding what you want and the steps you will take to achieve it,the easier it will be for you to overcome procrastination”- Brian Tracy

That is why you need to plan. It is not just enough for you to plan, but you must learn to write down your plans. You must learn to think on paper. To write down your goals. Unwritten goals leads to confusion and vagueness but when goals are written,it creates clarity.

4. Take Action Immediately: It is one thing to conceive an idea, another to act upon it. When you delay to carry out your plans, time passes you by. And if you are not cautious, you find yourself slowly falling into a state of depression and confusion. So write your plans daily, review them each day, and take action.

Never forget that an average plan well executed is better than a brilliant plan not carried out.

Thus, resolve everyday to do something that brings you towards your goal.
